FIVE!!!

My sweet little guy,

You are asleep now after a long day of celebrating your birthday – 5 is a big one so we have been celebrating all week! I was telling dada tonight on the way home that after long days like today I sit and think about how quickly the years seem to have flown even when the days are long and sometimes hard. You graduated from preschool a couple of weeks ago and it honestly feels like I was just dropping you off for your first day not long ago. This is a big year of change for you – you became a big brother (a darn good one!) and will be leaving the school you have attended the last 2.5 years in August and will be heading to transitional kindergarten! You continue to breeze through transitions much easier than mama – I was worried about how you’d take to having a new baby in the house after 4.5 years of being an only child but there has been nothing but love since day one. You are so sweet with your sister – you are so patient with her and are always talking to her and making her laugh and you brag about her to your friends or anyone who will listen really. She just lights up when she sees you – she loves you just as much as you love her. I love watching the two of you interact and I hope that you will continue to be good friends growing up.

Your favorite person remains your “best friend” dada – you love the nights he is home and the two of you will play outside for hours racing your scooters, hunting for rocks or exploring. The two of you are obsessed with your Ipads as well and play them together every chance you get. You don’t watch much tv these days since you prefer to save your screen time for your “pad” but when you do you love Jake, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Octonauts and continue to like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Max and Ruby as well. Your obsession with all things dinosaur continues and you still play with your trains and cars most days as well. You’re getting to be a good little Lego builder which makes mama happy because I love Legos too 🙂 You love listening to the Beat Buds in the car and have most of the songs memorized – you were so excited to have them come play at your birthday party last week! Your favorite place to be besides anywhere with dada is grandma’s house – you ask to go there almost daily and especially love the days your cousins are there. You can just about keep up with them on your bike now! It is so much fun to watch you learn and grow every day – you are such a smart little guy and such a sweetheart – I know there are great things ahead for you in this life. Mama, Dada and Ellie girl are your biggest fans and we will always be here cheering you on whatever you might do <3 Happy Birthday baby boy - we love you so much!
